Hugh Adamson was an experienced lawyer in Alberta prior to becoming a recuiter in 2006. Since 2006, he has been instrumental in providing lawyers with career counseling, interview preparation and industry specific roles to enhance their specialized area of law. He is well respected as a senior recruiter for lawyers at the partner level and has placed many prominent Calgary lawyers including rising star associates into positions for the purpose of enhancing their careers. He has also recently commenced introducing senior legal partners to join public companies as Directors.
Hugh Adamson founded Partners Recruiting Inc. in January 2010 after working with Techstaff Legal as a recruiter for 4 years. Hugh has placed partners and associate candidates with small, mid-size and large law firms locally, nationally and internationally and in many in-house positions with large and mid-size corporations. Hugh brings expert-level negotiating, compensation and strategic experience to the recruitment practice. Lawyers don’t conduct their own files – nor should you be conducting your own personal career transition. Hugh will only place “the right candidate in the right firm, at the right time.” Integrity, professionalism and excellent service are his personal values.
Hugh was born in Fort Smith, NWT and grew up in small towns in Northern Alberta. The work ethic and small town values that he gained from his upbringing permeate his work in every respect. Hugh obtained a B.Sc. with a major in genetics, B.A. with a major in political science and, finally, a law degree at the University of Calgary, in 1989. After articling at Burnet Duckworth & Palmer, he practiced primarily corporate law in a small firm in Calgary before finding his passion in recruiting in 2006.
Hugh has an active lifestyle that includes teaching and training in mixed martial arts, weight training and swimming. He has two sons, Craig and Blake, who were active for many years in various sports in High school and university. Hugh is a proud supporter of Calgary Area High School Sports and the advancement of student-athletes through participation in sports.
